RLMGA LOCAL RULES

(PLAY DAYS ONLY)

PROVISIONAL BALL WHEN PLAYING OVER A WATER HAZARD

If a player attempts to hit a ball over a water hazard and is unable to determine from the hitting ground if the ball has cleared the hazard, the player may play a provisional ball either by:
                1. Playing the provisional ball from the point where it was last played, or dropping within 2 club lengths (no closer to the hole) of where it crossed the hazard line, or playing it from any point along the line determined by the flag and the point of entry into the hazard and replaying the shot, or
                2. Re-teeing a ball if the original ball was played from the teeing ground 
If the player finds the original ball, the player can play it as it lies without penalty.  If the player cannot find the original ball after a reasonable search period, or chooses not to play it from within the hazard, the player will put the provisional ball into play with a one stroke penalty added to the score for that hole.
 
This rule will apply to the following holes on River Landing courses: 
River Course

             #4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 18

 Landing Course

             #3, 6, 8, 12

ADDITIONAL RLMGA LOCAL RULES:

1 – The option to play a ball that is lost or went out of bounds as a lateral hazard instead of walking back to the point last played is no longer active.  Instead, the RLMGA has adopted the USGA LOCAL RULE.  This rule allows, for 2 penalty strokes, the player to estimate the spot where the ball is LOST or went OUT OF BOUNDS and then find the nearest fairway edge to that spot; equidistant to or farther from the hole. You can then drop a ball in the fairway within 2 club lengths of that fairway edge point, or anywhere (no closer to hole)  between there and the estimated spot where the ball is lost or went out of bounds.  The option to play a provisional ball is still available, as is the official USGA rule of replaying the shot with a 2 stroke penalty.

RIVER LANDING LOCAL RULES
OUT OF BOUNDS
OB is defined by THE INSIDE POINT, AT GROUND LEVEL, of solid white wooden stakes 2”x2” on the River course, and by white PVC pipe with green caps on the Landing course. A ball that comes to rest on or crosses a residential or paved road (even if it comes to rest on another part of the golf course) is deemed out of bounds. To better clarify out of bounds as regards vacant lots, double white stakes represent the beginning and end of out of bounds. Vacant lots at River Landing are typically considered “General Area”, (meaning you can play from them without penalty) unless out of bounds stakes are present and then the vacant lots would be considered out of bounds.

WASTE AREAS
Waste areas located on the right sides of #10 and #14 of the Landing Course are not bunkers.

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREEN
If an Immovable Obstruction is on the line of play and is:
~ In the general area (fairway or rough) ,
~ Within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
~Within two club-lengths of the ball, 

The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.

SEAMS OF CUT TURF
In the general area, if a player’s ball lies in or touches a seam of cut turf or a seam interferes with the player’s area of intended swing, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. Relief is not available if the seam interferes with the player’s stance.

CLEANING BALL
When a player’s ball lies in the waste area right of hole #10 of the Landing course, and conditions dictate “Cart Path Only”, a ball may be marked, lifted, and cleaned without penalty. The player must mark the spot of the ball before lifting and the ball must be replaced on its original spot.

ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION
Relief from all newly sodded area outside of bunker.
This area when marked with white paint is considered ground under repair (GUR). Reference Point: The nearest point of complete relief in the general area (fairway or rough).
Size of relief area measured from reference point: 1 club length, but with these limits:
Must be in the general area (fairway or rough)
Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
There must be complete relief from all interference from the new sod.
Interference by material lining bunkers.
If the player’s ball is in the bunker and there is interference by the lining material to the lie of the ball, the player’s stance or the area of intended swing, the player may take relief as listed in 1. above but the reference point and relief point must be in the bunker.

Landscape Timbers. Timbers forming an entry/exit to the waste bunker on hole #10 of the Landing course are treated as a cart path. When there is interference to the lie of the ball or the player’s stance or area of intended swing, free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1a.
 
PAR 3 MATS
All mats are played as Immovable Obstructions and relief is available under 16.1a. The player is entitled to, but not required to take relief.
